I was honored to be my friend Nancy’s plus one to the most amazing event, hosted by Debi Lilly at her storefront called A Perfect Event!

Debi is a well-renowned entertaining and design expert located here in Chicago, whose belief is that anyone should be able to create unforgettable events without spending a lot of time or money. She has a long, well-respected client list including celebrities like Oprah.

We were invited to a Sunday brunch event called DIY Decadence, featuring many of the vendors and caterers that Debi uses for the events she plans.

All I can say is, WOW! I was truly blown away at the beauty, detail and amazing style of not only her store, but all the vendors and food services that were provided.

Pure Kitchen Catering concocted the scrumptious “tartine bar” complete with some of the best vegetarian tartines I have ever had in my entire life. My favorite was the pumpkin hummus and onion tartine, served over a kale salad with feta, pine nuts and a light lemon dressing. Absolutely delicious!

Toni Patisserie showcased an unbelievable assortment of fine French delicacies including mini cheesecakes, lemon and lavender shortbread cookies and rose macarons (topped with divine edible roses imported from France) among many others. Each item I tasted was a slice of heaven and I really savored each bite. Truly some of the most amazing French pastries to be had outside of France itself, and all here in Chicago (Toni Patisserie has a location in the loop as well as Hinsdale)!

All I can say is that when I am ready to have my Parisian themed party (hmmm…I’m thinking bridal shower or wedding reception), looks like I’ve found my event planner and caterers!
