Taste Of The Nation Chicago

I had the honor of attending the annual fundraising event called Taste of the Nation Chicago this past week at Navy Pier’s grand ballroom. The event supports Share Our Strength’s campaign called ‘No Kid Hungry’ to end childhood hunger. Let me tell you, this annual event is awesome and should not be missed!

With more than 85 renowned chefs and mixologists from some of the hottest restaurants in the Windy City, this really is a foodie’s (and philanthropist’s) paradise! Signature creations and cocktails, a night of live entertainment with Bill Rancic as the MC, a silent auction and stunning fireworks over Lake Michigan all for a good cause…what is there not to like?

Bottlefork's Heirloom Tomato Salad

Bottlefork’s Heirloom Tomato Salad

I had a blast trying out some unbelievable food and drinks and by the end of the night, let’s just say I was stuffed!! Sometimes these big gala events forget their vegetarian and vegan friends, but I’m happy to say that Taste of the Nation Chicago is not one of them. There were quite a few vegetarian options to choose from and one of my favorites was from Bottlefork: an heirloom tomato and stone fruit salad with feta, pineapple, basil and a sweet corn vinaigrette. So light and refreshing and perfect for a summer evening soiree.

Three Dots And A Dash Drinks

One of my favorite drinks was from Three Dots and a Dash and was a beautifully concocted drink called the Neptune; cruzan rum, el tesor tequila, lemon, passionfruit and falernum. Delicious and tropical, just how I like it!

One hundred percent of ticket sales from Taste of the Nation benefit No Kid Hungry, thanks to the many sponsors. I think that is awesome! Keep your eyes peeled for Taste of the Nation Chicago 2015 (August 2015) as I know it will be another amazing night filled with delicious eats, flowing drinks and fun entertainment, all to benefit children in need. Please help do your part!

Please Note: I was offered a complimentary ticket to Taste of the Nation Chicago; all opinions are my own.
