I Always Love Trying New Things

It’s been awhile since I’ve reviewed some products on the blog. Here are some fun ones I’ve tried recently, check them out:

The Real Co Products

The Real Co Products

Real Co Products– The Real Co is the first single origin global food company, and believes that “good comes from good.” The company enters partnerships with farmers and growers around the world that don’t have an established route to distribute their products and creates a way to share their commodity with the world, all while bringing full transparency and sustainability to the U.S. food industry. The Real Co currently has three products available nationally online and in stores; basmati rice (from the foothills  of the Himalayas), organic raw cane sugar (from Costa Rica) and Himalayan pink rock salt (straight from the Himalayas).  The products are carefully inspected and sourced and go straight from farm to shelf, eliminating the need for any middlemen, and I will say you can taste the difference. I tried all three products and felt good knowing these non-GMO products were straight from the source and helping small farmers around the globe. Doing good by eating good. I like it!

Vegetarian Comfort Foods Cookbook

Vegetarian Comfort Foods Cookbook

Vegetarian Comfort Foods Cookbook– “The Happy Healthy Gut Guide to Delicious Plant-Based Cooking,” has more than seventy-five recipes to nourish your body and soul. As we now enter my favorite season of the year, I am ready to get back into cooking more and being on a better schedule with eating healthy. I’m excited to use recipes from this book like the tangy lentil salad, roasted squash with apple and eggplant as well as the tofu stir-fry recipe. I know my gut will thank me as it’s been a little angry at the amount I’ve been eating out lately. It’s tough being a foodie on the scene and going to so many great restaurants and events. But, I’m listening to my body and getting back on track! Will keep you posted on any of my favorites from this book.

Cookina Reusable Grilling Sheet Photo Cred: Cookina

Cookina Reusable Grilling Sheet Photo Cred: Cookina

Cookina Reusable Grilling Sheet– Ok, now that BBQ season in Chicago is nearing an end, I do have a very cool tool I have come across. It’s a BBQ mat that is 100% non-stick and allows you to grill all your favorite foods while not worrying about having to clean up a greasy mess later. Simply place the reusable sheet over the grill to ensure you still get the perks of a BBQ flavor and grill marks, but no scraping off the grill afterwards. For me personally, Cookina is a game-changer because as a pretty picky vegetarian I don’t have to worry if meat was previously cooked on the grill where my vegetarian food is cooking. It might not sound like a big deal to some people, but to some of us, it is! Now, we just have to make sure the grill master uses separate tongs for my food and I know I’m in good hands. Try out the mat if you are a picky vegetarian like me!

For The Love Of Food And Yoga Book

For The Love Of Food And Yoga Book

For The Love Of Food And Yoga Book– This book is a “celebration of mindful eating and being” and explores how the inner awareness we develop on our yoga mats fuels our bodies, minds and overall states of well-being, which subsequently impacts our lifestyles and food experiences. This book is comprised of 100 “YogiBites” which are a collection of yoga teachings, paired with 100 recipes that are vegetarian, vegan, or raw. I’ve never seen a book like this and am definitely intrigued to try out the yoga tidbits with some of the great recipes (like hummus, soups and tacos to name a few). I’m also getting back into the habit of doing yoga weekly. I used to practice yoga much more frequently and can see and feel the difference in my body when I don’t do it. It’s time to get back into a routine with yoga and I’m excited. I think this book will really help inspire me.
